Education plus Skills equals Opportunity



The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) was established through the enactment of Republic Act No. 7796 in 1994. The institution aims to encourage the full participation of local government units and technical-vocational institutions in the skills development of the country’s human resources.

“Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994” gave way to more career opportunities for Filipinos. TESDA is mandated to integrate, coordinate and monitor skills development programs, restructure efforts to promote and develop manpower, approve skills standards and tests, develop an accreditation system for institutions involved in manpower development, fund programs and projects for technical education and skills development and assist trainers training programs.
TESDA courses cover a wide array of expertise including engineering, health sciences, computer and information technology, business and agriculture to name a few. Duration of the courses vary depending on the number and complexity of the skills you are expected to learn and demonstrate. Short vocational courses that were designed to help people acquire the skills necessary to carry out tasks associated with specific jobs or crafts. Plenty of career opportunities are open to graduates of TESDA courses, especially overseas where the demand for skilled workers.
